About ETX Sourdough Club
The Story
I was raised surrounded by incredible cooks and the rich flavors of Southern cuisine. That early love of food grew into a passion for understanding where it comes from, which led me to earn a Master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Environments from Sam Houston State University (Go Bearkats!). For me, knowing what’s on our plate—and how it got there—has always mattered.
As a mom of three boys, I quickly discovered that cooking at home wasn’t just healthier and more budget-friendly, but often more delicious too. In early 2022, I brought home my first sourdough starter, and what began as baking bread soon expanded into a full kitchen adventure—muffins, cookies, chicken and dumplings, and more, all made with sourdough.
What started as a family passion turned into ETX Sourdough Club when I began sharing my starter with neighbors and friends. To my surprise, people not only wanted to bake alongside me, but also to buy my sourdough creations. Week by week, the demand grew, and before long, I became known in the community as “The Sourdough Lady.”
Hosting my first club gathering—where I shared tips, stories, and plenty of fresh-baked loaves—was a dream come true. Everything sold out, and I knew I had found the answer to a prayer. ETX Sourdough Club is still growing, but every step of this journey has been a blessing, and I’m excited to share it with you.
